Think of it as Step-2-of-2, a great way to expand upon your students' inspiration, put pen to the page, and develop real-world, practical writing skills. How To Write A Fantasy Story That Would Blow The Socks Off Harry Potter
Length: 75-90 minutes

Ever wanted to write your own fantasy story, but not sure where to begin? Learn the “Fantasy Blueprint” every young author needs to write their own Harry Potter. We’ll explore the key elements to good fantasy writing, the importance of developing characters, world-building, point-of-view, and much more in this fun workshop especially designed for those with a passion for fantasy.
The Tinderbox: A Creativity Workshop

The Tinderbox is a unique and stimulating workshop designed to fan the spark of creativity in students. I’ll help guide these young artists and innovators through a sequence of writing exercises, each intended to be fun, empowering, and profound. Most importantly, each exercise supports a student’s individual strengths and the discovery of new ones.
Throughout the course of this workshop, students will explore their own creativity, where it comes from, how to engage it, and ways creativity can help overcome obstacles. By the end, you can expect each student to leave with a new enthusiasm for learning, and may want to start writing right away!
Writer-In-Residence Program
Length: 75 min/day
Days: 4
Max Attendance: 30 students
Grade Level: Two versions include grades 4-9, and 10-12
The Writer-In-Residence Program is a stimulating four-day workshop, focusing on the short story form. Each student learns the short story’s essential components, literary devices, and variability of styles. Elementary students focus on the fundamentals of good writing. In addition to conventional story arcing, high school students will also explore Flash Fiction, the 55 Word Story, Experimental, and Fantasy, each building upon the last in developmental fashion. By the end of the program each student should have a solid understanding of the short story form, and will have completed one or more of their own.

Fundamentals of Photography Workshop
LEVEL ONE
A camera is like magic box of creativity, just waiting to be opened. The world of your imagination lays hidden within. But without an understanding of your DSLR camera’s basic operation, unlocking that creativity can feel daunting.
This workshop is designed to open that box, get you out of “auto shoot mode,” and put the world of creative photography at your fingertips.
By the end of this workshop, you should have an understanding of:
- Proper exposure/the exposure pyramid
- Composition
- Basic lighting
- Basic guidelines for portraiture, landscape,
This is a hands-on workshop, so please bring your own DSLR camera to practice with.
